Process & Timeline
Ideally, we recommend starting the wedding invitation design process about 6-7 months before your big day. See below for more details on the entire process.
Step One - Discovery Call
Let's chat! I would love to start getting to know more about your story & style, and of course your wedding weekend! If you have any inspiration photographs, you can share them with me during this call. The more I can learn about your vision, the better prepared I can be with appropriate samples when you come to the studio.
Getting to know our clients if one of our favorite parts of the entire process.
The Discover Call usually takes 15-30 minutes.

Step Two - Design Session
Next, we will spend some time in the studio looking at every element of the invitation suite - font, ink, paper, color, shape. I will also show you embellishment options - silk ribbon, grommets, vellum, pockets, belly wraps - so that you can truly get a feel for how all of the different pieces work together to bring your vision to life. By the end of the session, we should have a full preliminary design.
We will also start to work on the wording for each individual card in your suite. Don't worry if you are still finalizing details, we will have time to make tweaks during the revision phase.
The Design Session usually takes about 2 hours.
Step Three - Proof and Revisions
About 1-2 weeks after the Design Session, you will receive an electronic mock-up ("proof") of your invitation suite. You will be able to see a digital rendering of each card individually, as well as the full suite.
From there, you have the opportunity to make changes. Picked the wrong shade of blue? Don't like how your name looks in that font? Feel like the details card is too small for that text? Don't worry - we can change it. We'll make whatever revisions are necessary until you feel that your invitation looks perfect.
The Revision Process can take up to a few weeks, depending on how many rounds of revisions we make.

Step Four - Guest Addressing
If you choose to have your outer envelopes addressed (which we highly recommend), you will need to have all your guest addresses finalized prior to production. We will provide you with a spreadsheet template to fill out with all of these details, along with some etiquette tips on how to address every guest appropriately.
Step Five - Production
Once you approve the final design, your invitations will move into printing & production.
Production usually takes 2-3 weekend, depending on print method and embellishments.

Step Six - Assembly & Mailing
Once you receive your printed invitations, it is time to assemble, seal and mail them. We offer assembly services if you prefer we assemble them for you.
We can also advise you on best practices for mailing invitations - you will likely need additional postage and hand-cancelling.
